Maui, a Hui Hou.
A Hui Hou. Until we meet again.
Maui. I have loved you and always will. But, it's time for me to leave. "Always know when it's time to leave," my heart whispers.
Living a traveling lifestyle comes with this motto. It's always hard to leave. Even when there are exciting, new horizons to explore.
Sighhhh.
Maui. I take Your indomitable spirit with me. A great teacher you are. Noble. Proud. Humble and beautiful beyond words.
I will be Incorporating Your values into my life. Sacredness. Respect. Love. For all of Life.
I see Your mountains, ancient and lovely. From you I’ve learned reverence for the past, and for those who came before us. I give thanks for all of these virtues.
Maui. For Your symbols of eternal hope seen in the breathtaking mountains, beaches, valleys and rivers. Of unbridled love for the people. For the present, as well as what the future holds. I’ll take with me the lessons. Of compassion and caring. Of dedication. That which arises out of pain. Out of challenge. Literally out of the fire.
For your long-standing native legacy, where family is 'Ohana'. Forever.
For me, relationships will never look the same anymore. If we rise to meet the situation, exactly as it is, we will always be rewarded. And Ohana will always be there for you.
I’ll take with me the supreme knowledge that in order to find your heart, you may have to lose it. I did. Lose my heart to you Maui.
And, oh that ocean. The experience of quiet that comes from just observing the ocean. The supreme calm that comes from immersing yourself in the need to do nothing. Of finding your voice. Of finding passion. As a starting off point and a place to come home.
Maui, you are all of that. Oh, what a way you have with me.
Maui no ka oi! You are simply the best.
A Hui Hou. Until we meet again.
Love,
Ella
